Katie Reiss-Tolliver, NCTMB, CIMI
Katie Reiss-Tolliver received her Bachelors degree in 2005 from Parsons School of Design, New York City. She moved to Chicago to continue her education at The New School for Massage, Bodywork & Healing, earning her Diploma in 2006 in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. She has over 850 hours of hands-on and seminar education. Her training includes Swedish, Advanced Deep Tissue, Sports, Pre & Post Natal, Hot Stone, Chair Massage, Cancer/HIV/Hospice Certification, Orthopedic Massage, Canine Massage, Infant Massage Instruction, Reiki, Advanced Ear, Face & Scalp Techniques, introductory Myofacial Release, Reflexology & Craniosacral Therapy and various ethical, pyschological and medical courses. Katie is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and American Medical Technologists.
Katie has worked and volunteered in various therapeutic environments. In Chicago, Katie worked as a Medical Assistant and Massage Therapist in conjunction with a medical doctor and chiropractor. Her massage practice focused on clients with numerous medical conditions including paralysis, fibromyalgia, sciatica, temporomandibular joint disorder, sports injuries, and chronic pain. She was selected to perform Chair Massage Therapy on guest relations staff at The Field Museum, Chicago. She has also worked at several spas and wellness centers. Katie has since moved back to New Jersey (in the New York City Area) where she works for a health & fitness company and has maintained her own private practice for several years.
In early 2008 Katie and her husband welcomed their first child into the world, further solidifying her understanding of the importance of organic products, and prenatal and infant massage.
